Understanding Your Caffeine Sensitivity
It's a common belief that we drink caffeine for productivity. But did you know that there are caffeine natural plant based products for productivity and energy?
As long as I could remember, I’ve had a sensitivity to caffeine. I was always in shock when I’d hear how people could drink 5-6 cups of coffee per day and not be shaking on the floor. In spite of me knowing that caffeine and anxiety don’t mix, I still drink coffee almost daily because I not only love the taste but it helps me start my mornings on a productive note.
My absolute max is 2 cups per day, otherwise I will be overwhelmed with anxiety and unable to concentrate. It’s like my brain moves faster, but my productivity does not. Realizing this, however, was not enough for me. I wanted to learn more about my caffeine sensitivity and understand why caffeine affects some people more than others.
It turns out caffeine increases the firing rate of noradrenergic neurons in the locus coeruleus, therefore affecting activity of mesocortical cholinergic neurons and changing the pattern of EEG arousal. The process differs from person to person, and my body has made it abundantly clear to me that I can only handle so much caffeine in a day. What’s interesting about this discovery, though, is that other caffeinated beverages like green tea, while delicious, doesn’t give me the energy boost I need.
That’s why I love taking ZenZest. There are no stimulants or caffeine, so I feel naturally energized without having any jitters or anxiety.
It’s great being able to still enjoy my morning cup of coffee without the unintended consequences of the caffeine sensitivity I would have if I drank a few more cups to stay energized throughout the day.
